How to do press ups properly
Press ups are by far the best thing you can do for your upper body. But many people make common mistakes and end up getting nowhere or not getting the best results. Here's everything you need to know about how to do press ups properly.
It's all about your cleavage.
First off press ups help to strengthen your chest. Many of my female clients take a particular dislike to press ups. Then it all changes when I point out that this exercise works the pectorals. These are the muscles that hold your boobs up. Making your chest muscles stronger will give you more a more pert cleavage but not necessarily smaller boobs.
Functionally the press up has many benefits in every day life. Every time you push something you are firing up many of the muscles you use when you perform press ups properly. This is the is the really important bit; press ups teach your nervous system to communicate. So your muscles learn to work as a team. Then the next time your car breaks down and you have to get out and push, thank the press up. It's helping your chest muscles to talk with your core and therefore protect your lower back from harm.
Press ups also work the backs of your arms (triceps) as well as your shoulders. Plus if you do them correctly they hit your core, bum and the middle of your back too. After all, a press up is essentially just a plank with movement.
